HAPPY NEW YEAR!

We will resume meeting at the church on Tuesday, January 7, 2009 at 9:30 AM. If you'd like to sign up for the treat rotation, send me an email and I'll put you on the calendar! Also, if there is a topic you'd like us to tackle (say, with a guest speaker or professional) or a person you'd like to have come and speak to the group, please let me know as I'm working out the calendar for the new season.

If you notice something that needs to be added or corrected on this site, please email me so I can address it! (I'm particularly interested in getting everyone's bdays to post in the sidebar - let me know if you have a January bday coming up!)

Enjoy time with family and friends this holiday season and we'll look forward to catching up in the new year!

Add to your verse ring!

This Tuesday, bring your keychain of verses that Casey gave you last week... in our high/low sharing we'll take time to share any new verses that were added to those keychains this week. Keep the Word on your tongue and in your hearts!

Women's Fall Breakfast @ EBF

Join us on Saturday, September 13, from 9 - 11 AM at EBF for the Women's Ministries Fall Breakfast. A full breakfast will be served and Tracy Laws (wife of pastor Daren Laws, who spoke this last weekend) will be the special guest speaker. There will be no childcare offered at the church during the breakfast, so make sure you find a sitter or get dad to stay home for a few hours. Invite your friends and family - and let us know if you're coming so we can plan to sit together! Looking forward to seeing you all there!

Baby/Kid clothing & gear exchange

On Tuesday, September 16, bring your bins of gently used too-small clothing, toys, videos/dvds, books, small furniture, gear, maternity clothes, etc. to MnM for an exchange day. Anything left over that you'd like to donate will be taken to Shepherd's Gate or Valley Pregnancy Center (depending on the items).

Back to School Week!

With older siblings home for the summer months, we sure did miss some of you who were unable to make it out to MnM group... but now that school's back in session, we can't wait to catch up! We're looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow at the church.

We are not sure if there will be childcare - if there is, a small donation is appreciated to help cover the cost of the caregivers - if there is not, we'll have fun with all the kids in the room with us. We'll have a better idea of the childcare availability next week. Until then, thanks for bearing with us! We'll keep you posted...

This Week @ Super Franks!

We're going to be at Super Franks at 10 AM (not the typical 9:30 -- it's not open that early). We'll meet up front by the glass-walled gym. They have CPK pizza, Starbuck's coffee, and Cheesecake Factory desserts! Come to play and stay for lunch!

Super Franks is located off Hopyard Road in Pleasanton, behind El Balazo.

Summer is here!

We're still meeting through the summer at EBF so invite your friends and neighbors! We're staying cool indoors on the hottest summer days and heading out to parks and other fun places once a month. Be sure to check the calendar for weekly location updates.

Directions to Hap Magee Park

Don't forget - this week (June 3) we're meeting at Hap Magee Park at 9:30 AM!
Bring snacks or lunch for you and your kids - and a blanket or towel for the grass. It should be a lovely day!

Hap Magee Park - 1025 La Gonda Way, Danville, 94526

From San Ramon (or further south):
Take 680 N to El Cerro Blvd Exit and exit toward El Pintado Rd.
Turn L at El Cerro Blvd.
Turn R at La Gonda Way. Go about 1 mile (alongside the freeway) until you see the park entrance on the R.

From Walnut Creek (or north of Danville):
Take 680 S to the El Pintado Rd. Exit.
Turn R at El Pintado Rd.
Turn R at La Gonda Way. Go about .4 mile until you see the park entrance on the R.

When you walk into the play area there will be a water feature immediately in front of you. We will set up "camp" past the water feature - just keep walking straight back and you'll find us!

*Special note* This park does have a water fountain that kids like to go crazy in! Be prepared and bring a change of clothes and a towel (or a blindfold so your little one doesn't know it's there!)... There is also a sand area if you want to bring sand toys.

Last Tuesday with Childcare!

We are in desperate need of finding childcare for the summer weeks! If you know of anyone interested in watching the 1-4 year olds in the room next door, please let us know. (We'll take teenage siblings who are home for the summer, too!)

Because we haven't nailed down childcare just yet, we're going to head to the park for the first week in June... We'll be meeting at Hap Magee park in Danville at 9:30 AM. It will be a casual playdate and time to get some fresh air - bring your own snacks/lunch and a blanket for picnic time. Hap Magee has a water feature, so be safe and bring a change of clothes!

Submit your questions for Dr. Anja!

Dr. Anja from Greenbody will be answering your specific health questions next week. Email or post a comment (it will be kept private and not published on this site) with your questions by Friday, May 16. Her main topic will be on keeping toxins out of our homes and away from our kids - but if you have any other topics you'd like her to touch on, let us know! (baby bottles, homeopathic medicines, specific illnesses or disorders, chemicals in household cleaners, vitamins & supplements, etc...)

Sale! Sale! Sale!

There are a few yard/garage sales coming up in the next few weeks that will feature baby/kid items...

One will be a neighborhood sale in Bettencourt Ranch on Saturday, May 10. The whole development is invited to participate in this sale - lots of families involved, lots of kids items! Take a drive through the neighborhood (just past Blackhawk Plaza on Camino Tassajara) if you have nothing else planned for the day...

The next is one that Shelly had mentioned... I don't know the specifics, so I'll invite Shelly to post a comment and give us all a little more info on location, date & time.

If you have any other tips on local sales, post a comment and fill us in!

If you'd like to sign up to bring snacks, post a comment and we'll add you to the schedule.

If you'd like to add an idea for a week's discussion topic, post a comment and we'll add the topic to our calendar!

EBF Mom's Group starts in less than one week!

We are excited to begin this new group and meet all of you moms (and expecting moms!) and your little ones. The format is very casual - we'll spend time getting acquainted, share the highs and lows of our weeks, bounce around ideas about the week's topic, and hear from our special guests with their tips and tricks. If you have any topics you'd like to discuss in the group, post a comment or email us and we'll be sure to get your topic on the calendar.

Please note: ALL moms are welcome! If your children are too old to attend, just come on your own!
